8 Formas de usar el verbo hacer

¡Hola a todos! El verbo HACER es un verbo regular y puede usarse en diferentes contextos, pero siempre lleva el mismo significado principal, que es “to do”. Veamos cuales son los usos de este verbo:

1. Producir o crear algo: Produce or create something.

Mirá lo que hice, ¿Esta increible, no? Look what I did, it’s incredible, isn’t it?
Voy a hacer un proyecto para mi negocio. I’m going to do a project for my business.
No quiero hacer más cuadros, me gustaría cambiar de profesión, quiero ser un carpintero. I don’t want to make any more paintings, I would like to change my profession, I want to be a carpenter.
Quiero hacer unas fotos en la playa con mi familia. I want to take some photos on the beach with my family.
Yo hice dos canciones para Karol G en el 2019. I did two songs for Karol G in 2019.

2. Para hablar de fenomenos del clima: To talk about weather phenomena.

Hace mucho calor hoy, voy a salir con un pantalón corto. It’s very hot today, I’m going out in shorts.
Aquí hace frió porque estamos en la ciudad más alta de América del Sur. It’s cold here because we are in the highest city in South America.
No hace mucho calor hoy porque ayer llovió. It’s not very hot today because it rained yesterday.
Mañana va a hacer mucho sol porque finalmente es verano. Tomorrow it will be very sunny because it is finally summer.
No va a hacer sol hoy porque es invierno, no podremos broncearnos en la playa. It’s not going to be sunny today because it’s winter, we won’t be able to tan on the beach.

3. Organizar un evento: Organize an event.

Voy a hacer mi matrimonio cerca de la playa. I’m going to have my wedding near the beach.
Yo hice la ceremonia de mi grado en un hotel. I did my degree ceremony in a hotel.
Mis padres hicieron la celebración de su cumpleaños 60 en un barco. My parents had their 60th birthday celebration on a boat.
El alcalde hizo una fiesta en el centro de la ciudad por el cumpleaños 300 de Barranquilla. The mayor threw a party in the center of the city for Barranquilla’s 300th birthday.
Yo hice un evento en mi casa y se arruinó todo por una pelea entre dos borrachos. I did an event at my house and everything was ruined by a fight between two drunks.

4. Hablar sobre el tiempo que ha pasado: Talk about the time that has passed.

Hace 20 años que no estoy ahí. I haven’t been there for 20 years.
Hace 5 años que vivo en una ciudad diferente. I have been living in a different city for 5 years.
Hace mucho tiempo que no voy a un lugar frio en invierno. It’s been a long time since I went to a cold place in winter.
Hace días que no como dulce. I haven’t eaten candy for days.
Hace muchos años dejé de comer comida muy salada. Many years ago I stopped eating very salty food.

5. Hacer una modifició fisica para mejorar la apariencia: Make a physical modification to improve appearance.

Voy a hacerme un facial antes de dormir. I’m going to get a facial before bed.
Vamos al salón a hacernos las uñas. Let’s go to the salon to get our nails done.
Lucia y Julio van a la peluquería a hacerse el blower. Lucia and Julio go to the hairdresser’s to get a blower.
Mañana vamos a hacernos un masaje. Tomorrow we are going to get a massage.
Raquel se hizo la nariz con su primo el cirujano. Raquel got her nose done with her cousin, the surgeon.

6. Fortalecer los músculos por medio del entrenamiento fisico: Strengthen muscles through physical training.

Hoy tengo que hacer pierna. Today I have to do leg.
Mañana voy a hacer zumba. Tomorrow I’m going to do zumba.
Hace mucho tiempo que no hago sentadillas en el gimnasio. I haven’t done squats in the gym in a long time.
No hago pesas, solo cardio. I don’t do weights, just cardio.
Toda la semana voy a hacer brazos por la mañana y por las tardes cardio. All week I will do arms in the morning and cardio in the afternoon.

7. En reflexivo para significar apartarse: In reflexive to mean turning away.

Hazte a un lado. Step aside.
Hazte hacia a la derecha para que puedas salir en la foto familiar. Move to the right so you can be in the family photo.
Hazte a un lado en la vida de esa mujer. Step aside in that woman’s life.
Hazte hacia la izquierda para que puedas estacionar el carro completamente. Move to the left so that you can park the car completely.
